How it works

Hoop Capitol is simple: every region — every city, every state, every high school — has an all-time pool of real hoopers, going back to the 1940s. You pick 5 of them, across any era, to represent your region. Then you run your 5 against everybody else's.

The one rule: regions don't mix

Wilt only plays for Philly. Isaiah Thomas only plays for Tacoma. You can pair a 1950s legend with a 2024 kid — as long as they're from the same town. That's the whole game: who's *really* got the best lineage?

Ratings & power

Every player has an OVR based on the level they reached — NBA legend, All-Star, pro, college, or hometown legend — nudged by their real career numbers. Your squad's power is the average of your five OVRs, plus a bonus for covering different positions.

Simulation

Each game compares team power with real basketball variance baked in — upsets happen, that's the fun. Series are best-of-7. The Big Dance is win-or-go-home.

Help us find names

The hard part is the deep cuts — the local legends and the guys repping the city overseas. Got a name we're missing? That's the BxB community's job. hoop-capitol.com
